API Terms of Use

1. Scope

These API Terms apply to all access to the ARBK Atlas REST API, both via account-issued API keys and any future programmatic interfaces. They supplement the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.

2. Eligibility

API access is available to Enterprise customers. Free and Business plans do not include API access. Enterprise contracts define per-account quotas in writing.

3. API keys

• API keys are issued via the account dashboard at /account.
• Keys are bound to a single account and must not be shared with third parties or across organizations.
• You are responsible for keeping keys secret. Never commit them to public repositories.
• Compromised keys must be rotated immediately via the account dashboard.
• We may revoke keys at any time for breach of these terms or suspected abuse.

4. Rate limits and quotas

Rate limits are enforced server-side and visible in the response headers X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining, and X-RateLimit-Reset.

Daily quotas reset at 00:00 UTC. Exceeding quota returns HTTP 429. Sustained excess may result in throttling, key suspension, or account termination.

Enterprise customers may negotiate higher quotas in their contract.

5. Permitted use

• Internal integration with the Customer's back-office systems for due diligence, KYC/KYB, monitoring, and reporting.
• Periodic batch lookups within the agreed quota.
• Triggering alerts on changes to Watched businesses.
• Building Customer-internal dashboards from the responses.

6. Prohibited use

• Reselling or sublicensing raw API responses to third parties.
• Building a public product or competing business-registry service from API responses.
• Training machine-learning models on bulk API extracts without an explicit data-licensing addendum.
• Automated decisions about credit, insurance, employment, or housing — see Acceptable Use Policy.
• Circumventing rate limits via key rotation or distributed clients.
• Reverse-engineering risk scores, owner-network analytics, or other derived fields.

7. Data licensing

API responses contain a mix of public-source registry data and ARBK-derived enrichments. The combined output is licensed to the Customer on a non-exclusive, non-transferable, internal-use basis. Sui generis database rights apply to our enrichment, index, and aggregation work.

8. Attribution

Where ARBK Atlas data is displayed in Customer-facing interfaces, attribution is appreciated: "Data via ARBK Atlas (arbk.atlas-studio.eu)". Attribution is required for any public-facing display.

9. Fair use and abuse

Even where Enterprise quotas are unlimited in writing, "unlimited" is subject to fair use. Sustained excessive load that affects platform stability or other customers may be throttled. We will contact the Customer before taking durable action where reasonably possible.

10. Termination

API access terminates on cancellation of the underlying Enterprise subscription, on breach of these terms, or on suspension under the Acceptable Use Policy. On termination, all keys are revoked and the Customer must delete cached responses within 30 days, except for archives required by law.

11. Changes

We may update these API Terms. Material changes are notified to Enterprise customers by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
